India’s popular TV actress Diljit Kaur has filed a case against her husband Nikhil Patel. The actress filed the case at Agripada police station in Mumbai on August 2.
Diljit Kaur has filed a case against Nikhil Patel under sections 85 and 316 (2) of the Indian Penal Code, Times Now reported. Diljit accused her husband Nikhil of cruelty, criminality and infidelity.
Diljit gave a post on his Instagram. The actress thanked Assistant Commissioner of Police Anil Prakash, DCP Krishnakanth, Senior Inspector Yogendra, Investigation Officer Sachin.
Nikhil lives in Kenya. He is a businessman by profession. After marriage, Diljit moved to Kenya with her husband. But Diljit returned to India last January. At the end of last May, Nikhil told the Indian media Times of India from Kenya that their family was broken. They decided to separate after one year of marriage. But at the moment Nikhil is staying in India.
Diljit-Nikhil registry not married. They only got married according to religious norms. Earlier, Nikhil told The Times of India, ‘Our wedding ceremony was completed in March last year in Mumbai according to Indian customs. Although the marriage had only cultural significance, there was no legal requirement. The purpose of the event was to reassure his family that Diljit would be moving to Kenya. Despite our efforts, adapting to Kenyan life proved challenging for Diljeet, who was also missing his career and Indian life. Gradually the complexities of our family life became apparent.’
Diljit no longer wants to go to Kenya. Nikhil said, ‘Diljit told me that he can go to Kenya to bring the necessary items, and he has no plans to go there. I packed his things and kept them safe. I think his departure to India marks the end of our relationship.’
Diljit first tied the knot with actor Shalin Bhanat in 2009. They have a child in this world. Shaleen and Diljit divorced in 2015.
Diljit stepped into acting after winning the ‘Miss Pune’ contest in 2004. On the small screen, ‘Kulbadhu’, ‘Is Pair Ko Kya Naam Du?’ He gained popularity by acting in serials etc. But after participating in the reality show ‘Bigg Boss’, his popularity spread more.
