LOn July 6, 1957, at a party in Woolton Parish, where his skiffle band, The Quarrymen, were performing, John Lennon met Paul McCartney. They are 16 and 15 years old respectively. Myth by fans, this moment is seen as the birth certificate of the Beatles. Founded in the cellars of Hamburg with the addition of George Harrison and drummer Pete Best, the group, which found its name in 1960, would see the latter replaced by Richard Starkey, aka Ringo Starr. Supervised by a Liverpool record store that became their manager, Brian Epstein, the four boys captured the atmosphere of the early 1960s with their first hit, “Love Me Do”, released in 1962. This it would be the beginning of Beatlemania, the movement that had been taking over Great Britain before conquering the world.
