“Supreme Council Candidates’ Competition to ‘Protect Lee Jae-myung’ Is Tearful”
“Only harsh words tailored to the strong support base…even sedition-like ideas”

The People Power Party criticized the Democratic Party of Korea’s national convention on the 4th, saying, “The competition among the supreme council members to ‘protect Lee Jae-myung’ is heartbreaking.” They also emphasized, “Becoming the personal guardians of criminal suspects cannot be the vision and goal of the supreme council members of the Democratic Party, a public party of the Republic of Korea.”
Spokesperson Kim Hye-ran released a commentary that day, saying, “At the Democratic Party’s national convention, which is solidifying from ‘Eodae-myeong’ (Lee Jae-myeong will be the party leader anyway) to ‘Hwak-dae-myeong’ (Lee Jae-myeong is definitely the party leader), the ‘real name’ marketing of the supreme council candidates is something to behold.”
Spokesperson Kim criticized, “Those who are determined to protect Lee Jae-myung, such as ‘We will create Lee Jae-myung’s government,’ ‘We will write an impeachment motion,’ and ‘We must oust the president,’ are all shouting ‘impeach the president’ and ‘disband the prosecution,’ and are spouting out irrational and harsh words that suit the tastes of his loyal supporters.”
He claimed, “As the former representative’s judicial risk grows, he is attempting to intimidate the prosecution and weaken the judiciary, and is even thinking of unconstitutional and sedition-like ideas like ‘destroying the regime. ’ However, the more this happens, the more suspicions about the former representative grow, and the clock of the people’s stern judgment turns faster.”
He continued, “The convention has degenerated from a festival for party members to a feast for Lee Jae-myung alone,” and “Furthermore, competition and healthy criticism within the Democratic Party, which has solidified former leader Lee’s one-man system by overhauling party members and party rules, have long since disappeared.”
Spokesperson Kim emphasized, “The current reality of the Democratic Party is that there is an outpouring of praise for lawmakers who swore at and used abusive language toward ruling party lawmakers, and if they look good to their extreme supporters, they record the highest amount of primary campaign donations.” He added, “Becoming the personal guardians of criminal suspects cannot be the vision and goal of the candidates for the supreme council of the Democratic Party, a public party in the Republic of Korea.”
