Saiful Haque, General Secretary of Revolutionary Workers Party, has called upon the government to resign immediately to avoid further bloodshed, commenting that the government is pushing the country on the path of civil war due to brutal killings across the country.
He made this call in a statement on Sunday. He also urged the law enforcement agencies not to fire on the unarmed student crowd.

Terrorists of the government party are armed and attacking the protesting students. So far more than 60 students and common people have been killed in different districts of the country; Several thousand were injured. Direct lethal weapons were used again today on protesting student mobs in different districts. He demanded the government and the ruling party to stop this bloodshed to retain their illegal power.
Saiful Haque mentioned that in Narayanganj this afternoon during the peaceful procession of students and people, many leaders and workers including Abu Hasan Tipu, general secretary of Narayanganj district of the party, members of the political council of the Revolutionary Workers Party, were injured.
He said that the law and order forces including the army are the forces of the republic and not of any particular party. That is why they cannot stand against the people for any particular party.
