As Foreign Minister, Annalena Baerbock travels abroad a lot and is often involved in crises. In Leverkusen, things are completely different: the politician takes off from the trampoline – with ease.
On their summer trips through Germany, government members try not only to give speeches and shake hands, but also to talk directly with citizens. Foreign Minister Annalena Baerbock also gave a taste of her sporting skills on her summer tour of North Rhine-Westphalia.
During a visit to TSV Bayer 04 Leverkusen, the Green Party politician not only talked to athletes with disabilities and the owner of a prosthetics manufacturer. During the visit, she also swapped her dress for gym clothes and got on a trampoline.

Before her political career, Baerbock was a competitive athlete – as a trampoline gymnast. After the visit to Leverkusen, the minister then went on to Cologne to the European Astronaut Centre of the European Space Agency (ESA).
