‘Member Ramesan 9th Ward’, a film written and directed by newcomers Anto Jose Pereira and Abby Tresa Paul, is aptly titled ‘Beautiful Thumbnail’. The film is about friendship, love, intimacy and politics.

The story is set in a village called Manjapra. The protagonist OM Ramesan (Arjun Ashokan) is a painting worker. Family consisting of autorickshaw driver father (Indrans) mother and sister. Ramesan’s life goes on happily despite financial difficulties such as playing cricket with friends during the holidays and occasional trips and romances. Meanwhile, Ramesan unexpectedly became the UKF’s candidate in the local elections.

The LKF candidate is Ramesan’s boss and friend Thomas (Chemban Vinod). There is a fierce battle going on between Thomas, who is actively involved in politics and wants to be a candidate, and Ramesan, who has no political ambitions. But the challenge awaited Ramesan, who entered electoral politics believing that the country would improve and his life would improve. Ramesan’s struggles and his attempts to overcome it continue.

The film manages to easily connect the audience with the problems of the common man. The bad tendencies in politics are portrayed in a simple and clear way. And is ridiculed. This has made it possible to create interesting moments in the film.

As a character who goes through various stages like a responsible son, a loving brother, a dream lover and a young man who has fallen into politics, Ramesan has given Arjun the opportunity to excel. Arjun was able to do justice to it. Although there are not many scenes, Indrans’ role as the father is the deepest character in the film. Indrans, as usual, excels as a helpless father who finds no rest in old age, who runs to the ends of life, who does not like to hurt or pressure his children.

Although Sabumon does not know anything about Ajit as a politician with a negative shade who knows tricks and intrigues, Abu Mammookoya, who takes credit for everything, Chemban Vinod Jose who came as Thomas and Sminu Sijo who came as Ramesan’s mother also excelled. Another notable one is Johnny Antony. Not only his dialogues but even his expressions and angles make the audience laugh. Member Ramesan also reminds us that Johnny Antony has a lot left to do in acting. Shabarish, Gayatri Ashok, Saju Kodiyan and Anoop Pandalam have also done well.

The song ‘Alare’ sung by Nithya Mammon and Ayran was well received by the Malayalees. This beautifully illustrated love song will still fill the lips of Malayalees. The other songs in the film are appropriate for the occasion. The music is composed by Kailas Menon with lyrics written by Shabarish. The photographer was able to capture the countryside beautifully.

Undoubtedly, Anto Jose Pereira and AB Tresa Paul have succeeded in bringing the film to the screen without the panic of newcomers. Therefore, Member Ramesan can hold the audience for two hours without boring them. Moreover, this movie gives the audience some thoughts along with laughter. Member Ramesan 9th Ward is the best movie to watch in the theater with your family.
