Participants of the 5th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth held in Lachin visited the city of Khankendi. The youth, who got acquainted with various places of the city, were provided with detailed information about Khankendi.

As reported to Day.Az on Monday by the State Committee for Work with Diaspora, the participants then went to Karabakh University, where they met with Rector Shahin Bayramov.

Stressing that the camp participants were the first guests of the Karabakh University, he provided detailed information about the history of the building, its modern infrastructure, future plans and projects, faculties and specialties that will be taught at the university.

The rector noted that the university will begin its activities for the first time in the new academic year. More than 1,000 students in 27 specialties are expected to be admitted to 6 faculties. He emphasized that in the following years the number of faculties and specialties will increase, and in addition to the bachelor’s degree, students will be admitted to master’s and doctoral degrees.

Shahin Bayramov brought to the attention of the youth that one of the main goals is to turn Karabakh University into the most modern educational institution that will represent Azerbaijan’s higher education in the world.

The rector also voiced expectations from the Diaspora youth. He expressed confidence that the youth will support the popularization of Karabakh University in the world, attracting foreign students in the coming years.
