Already as a teenager Stepan Timoshin Money with sneakers, became a self-made millionaire. Now he has to cope with a personal setback.
Stepan Timoshin is a sneaker reseller. That means he doesn’t buy his goods directly from the manufacturers, but buys trendy shoes from private individuals or in stores, whose value is likely to increase. He has turned this into a business – and become rich. With his know-how, he has also made a name for himself on Instagram: around 165,000 people follow him on his social media channel.
But the road to becoming a millionaire involves hard work. “My lifestyle was extreme. I got up at six o’clock, worked until two o’clock in the morning and only slept four hours,” the Berliner told Bild. But suddenly Stepan Timoshin’s health was slowed down: at the age of 23 he was diagnosed with lung cancer.
Stepan Timoshin actually wanted to take a break in the Maldives. But on the way to his vacation he suddenly felt bad: “I was known for never being sick. But in December 2023 I got pneumonia. I flew to Dubai. Then everything got worse. I got a bad cough and pain,” he recalls. The entrepreneur underwent a breathing test, but his lungs failed.
Back in Germany, numerous tests followed – with shocking results. “I tested positive for a tumor and was diagnosed with cancer. My tumor was still very small, and I had no metastases,” explains Stepan Timoshin. He needed chemotherapy, which reduced his weight from 95 to 70 kilograms. Despite the exhausting treatment, the Berliner continued to work: “I felt very, very bad. Despite that, I worked every day because I simply have a great responsibility towards my employees.”
In April, Stepan Timoshin completed his first treatment. According to current knowledge, however, he needs further chemotherapy. Nevertheless, the 23-year-old has not lost his optimism – and looks back on the events positively: “The pneumonia probably saved my life. Otherwise, I would never have gone to the doctor and had myself checked out like that.”
Stepan Timoshin’s followers are also supporting him during this difficult time. His Instagram posts contain numerous wishes for his recovery: “Good luck, I hope you get well soon,” “I wish you lots of strength,” and “All the best, my dear, you’ll get through it,” are just a few of the comments.
