Portugal’s Hopes Ride High as Athletes Gear Up for Crucial Olympic Events

On a day when athletics puts four athletes into action, Nader, who qualified directly for the semi-finals on Friday by finishing sixth in his heat, will attempt today, starting at 21:15 local time (20:15 in Lisbon), to secure a place in the decisive race scheduled for Monday.

To do this, he will need to be one of the top six in his semi-final heat, which he shares with two medalists from Tokyo 2020, Norwegian Jakob Ingebrigtsen, who won gold, and British Josh Kerr, who took bronze at the last Games and is the current world champion.
