VP employees will monitor road traffic safety and public order, and will also help people if necessary.

Law enforcement officers remind that it is easy to get lost in places where a large number of people gather, so visitors should take care of their own safety, and especially that of children. In case a child or an adult goes missing, the police or event organizers should be contacted for help.

Also, the participants of the Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary are invited to take care of their bags and other personal belongings, including not leaving them in the tents. At the same time, law enforcement officers invite you to evaluate whether it is necessary to take valuable things with you to the event.

In cases where lost items are found, the VP invites you to hand them over to the Basilica’s Tourist Information Center or a police officer. After the end of the event, the found items will be handed over to the VP North Latgales station in Preiļi, Talsu Street 2, where the owner can receive them back.

During the festival, it is prohibited to use unmanned aerial vehicles over the event sites without the approval of the festival organizer and the municipality.

The VP calls on local residents to be understanding of various traffic restrictions and inconveniences, but all road users are asked to move according to the rules and be tolerant towards each other. Drivers should take into account that groups of pilgrims are moving along the roads towards Aglona, and they should be careful when passing them. Also, the police remind pilgrims that when moving along the side of the road in the dark, pedestrians and also cyclists should remember to use reflectors so as not to endanger themselves and other road users.

It has already been reported that pilgrims and believers will be welcomed in Aglona from August 11, but most pilgrim groups will reach the holy place on August 12-14.

August 11 is a day dedicated to the sick, August 12 – a day dedicated to families, August 13 – a day dedicated to peace, and August 14 – the day of commemoration of Saint Maynard, bishop and the second patron of Latvia, according to the information on the website of the Aglona Basilica.
