Dânia Neto, 41 years old, shared a heartfelt message on social media regarding the construction of what was supposed to be her dream home, which has turned into a true nightmare.
“It’s worth a sad smile from someone who only wanted to feel better at home than outside it. I dream of the day when it will be possible to have my children safe, in the house that I paid for with the fruit of my work.”, wrote the actress.
“This is the first summer for baby António, and I can’t help but feel deeply sad. It will soon be two years that I’ve had my house full of holes. Mold, dampness, and fungi were already here before I discovered that there were cubic meters of stagnant water under the floor I walk on. Every day I have to pump out water so the house doesn’t get worse than it already is. Rain or shine, liters of water flow out of this open hole in the floor every day. The cubic meters of water I remove from this house every week could fill a pool weekly, can you imagine?” she emphasized.
And she lamented: “This house means a lot to me; it was once my most desired dream. But life turned things upside down, and I managed to build a house that became a nightmare.”.
Finally, Dânia Neto stated that she hopes to resolve this situation in court: “I can only wait for justice to be served in court and hope that one day I can have my house fixed and safe, where my children can have fun, enjoy and be safe. When in 2016 I finalized the purchase of this land with the construction of a house, I was not dating my husband, I had no children, and this construction meant for me the place where I would build my dream, build a family. Building a house is a lifelong financial investment. It has been a thankless, silent struggle for years that has culminated in a house filled with extremely serious construction defects, with no drainage system, which basically leaks water everywhere. Hundreds of spoiled personal belongings, mold caused by dampness, a horrible musty smell with stagnant water, indescribable!”.
“Only those who live and pass through know the anguish, the stress, the sleepless nights, the anxiety that all of this causes. Not to mention the financial blow that all of this means in someone’s life. A house should be a safe haven, a place of comfort, a refuge, where we feel peace. None of that exists here.”, she concluded.
