This national epic constitutes “a pivotal and decisive historical stage in the history of Morocco, because its resonance has reached various parts of the world and the international media have taken an interest in it by analyzing its different dimensions, considering it as an exceptional and unprecedented peaceful and civilizational choice”, stressed the participants in this meeting, initiated by the regional delegation of the High Commission for former resistance fighters and former members of the liberation army.
Organized in partnership with the regional communications department under the theme: “The Green March: consecration of peaceful values in the international plea for the territorial integrity of Morocco”, this meeting was an opportunity to emphasize the great significance of this historic event which “strongly embodied the cohesion and symbiosis between the throne and the people, as well as the unwavering attachment of Moroccans to their sacred national and religious values, to their cultural and civilizational constants and to the justice of their national cause”.
The speakers welcomed the successive victories won by Moroccan diplomacy in the issue of the Moroccan Sahara under the enlightened leadership of HM King Mohammed VI, and the international recognition of the Moroccanness of the Moroccan Sahara and the full sovereignty of the Kingdom over this part of its territory.
In a statement to MAP, the regional delegate of former resistance fighters and former members of the liberation army in Fez-Meknes, Badr Sili, stressed the importance and symbolism of the commemoration of the anniversary of the Green March, adding that this symposium constitutes an appropriate opportunity to consolidate the culture of patriotism and positive citizenship among young people and rising generations, especially students, and to make known its main dimensions and meanings.
