Thanks to the chartered accountant (CA). The CA filed his income tax return after taking some fees. Now he is likely to get a refund of around Rs 53,000. Yesterday, he received a message on his mobile phone. The message also said that the message has come from the income tax department. He did as it was said. And then he was shocked. He became a victim of fraud. Around Rs 1.25 lakh was withdrawn from his account.

The message that Shashikant received said that his income tax refund has been cleared. He just had to click on the given link and provide some information. He made the same mistake. He clicked on the link and provided the details that were being asked. Soon he received a message from the bank that Rs 1.25 lakh had been debited from his account. After this, he realized that he had been cheated. After this, he filed a report.
This is also a way of cheating
A senior officer of Delhi Police says that these days cyber fraudsters are finding new ways of cheating. Till 31st July, it was the season of filing income tax returns. Now people are waiting for income tax refund. Just on this basis, the fraudsters started their work. People click on the link in the greed of getting IT refund quickly and get cheated.
Income tax is due
There is also news that cyber thugs have started cheating people by sending messages of income tax due. People think that this message is coming from the Income Tax Department, but it is not so. The cyber cell of the police has warned people that if you receive any such message and are asked to talk on any number, then do not do it or else you will also be cheated.
Noida police issued warning
Noida Police has now issued a warning that if you are getting any such message, then ignore it completely or else you will become a victim of cyber fraud. According to the warning issued by the cyber cell, a message/link is being made viral by cyber criminals for the past few days that money fraud is being done by giving a number saying that your income tax refund is due. Such messages/links are not being issued by any income tax department. Be careful of such messages/links.
What to do if you receive such a message?
A cyber expert from the police department says that such messages contain a link that if your income tax return is due, then you should click on this link and fill in your details. Police says that such messages should be ignored. Such messages are not being sent by the Income Tax Department. Cyber fraudsters are circulating these messages and committing fraud using them. It is better to inform the police about this so that the mobile number from which this message has come can be tracked and the fraudsters can be reached. You can also complain on the cyber crime helpline number 1930.
