City of Foggia Embarks on New Era of Cleanliness with Seven Advanced Street Sweepers
The city of Foggia has taken a significant step towards a cleaner future with the arrival of seven state-of-the-art street sweepers. These innovative vehicles were officially presented by Amiu Puglia, the local waste management company, in the presence of Mayor Maria Aida Episcopo, councilors, and company officials.
The new sweepers boast a compact size, allowing them to navigate narrow streets with ease. They are equipped with a waste container with a capacity of 5 cubic meters and a water tank holding 700 liters. Additionally, a street cleaning facilitator system featuring an upper and lateral water jet lance ensures thorough cleaning.
This significant investment marks the beginning of Amiu Puglia’s renewal phase for the Foggia Operating Unit, with an initial cost of approximately one million euros. The company plans to further expand its fleet in September with the arrival of 26 additional vehicles, including compactors and porters, primarily used for separate waste collection.
“In recent months, we have made significant strides in promoting separate waste collection, replacing bins, and raising public awareness through campaigns,” said Mayor Episcopo. “Today, with the arrival of these new sweepers, we are taking another crucial step towards a cleaner and greener Foggia.”
The sweepers are powered by the most ecological motorization available on the market and feature a spacious cabin designed for operator comfort and safety. The flexible sweeping system ensures thorough cleaning in all situations, while the presence of a third brush allows for simultaneous sweeping of both the road and sidewalk.
“We believe in the power of innovation and collaboration to achieve our goals,” said Antonella Lomoro, president of Amiu Puglia. “We urge the community to join us in this journey towards a cleaner and more livable Foggia.”
