State Police Issue Public‍ Safety Alerts

July ⁢29, 5:40 p.m. ​- Police in Roceži, Laidze parish received a report of a man lying on the roadside, potentially under the⁣ influence of alcohol. Officials arrived with EMS and found the man sleeping in ⁣a hallway. He awoke ‍and admitted to ⁤consuming‍ alcohol and feeling tired, ​refusing medical attention. An administrative violation was issued‍ for disturbing public order.

August⁣ 1, 1:30 p.m. – A man was spotted driving a bicycle under the⁤ influence in Dundaga. Three similar incidents occurred on the⁣ same day in Laucienes Parish, with one resulting in a fatality.​ Administrative violations were issued in all cases.

August 2, 8:40 p.m. ⁣- A report of a fire at a residential house in Talso led police to the scene. ⁤Upon arrival, officers suspected the caller was under the influence and initiated‍ an administrative violation.

Firefighting and Rescue Updates

From July ⁣29th to August 5th, the Kurzeme Region⁣ Administration of the State Fire and Rescue Service received‌ 11 calls in the Talsi area: one for extinguishing a fire,‍ six for rescue operations, and four false‌ alarms.⁣ Highlights include:

  • Rescue of two wild boars from a pit in ⁢Virbu Parish.
  • Extinguishing a 1 square meter fire in Raina Street,​ Talsos.
  • Clearing fallen trees from roadways ⁢in Rojas, Lauciene, and Abava parishes.
