The Ministry of Health announced recently (Friday) that there was a fault in a water pipe in the Emek Hefer area, apparently an explosion occurred at a main water line at the site.
The following are the guidelines of the Ministry of Health at this stage:
• In the locality of Kfar Vitkin – It is forbidden to use water for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth and preparing medicines.
• In the locality of HofitWater will be supplied from an emergency tank by the council.
• In the localities of Shoshanat HaEmakim, Tzuki Yam, Havatzelet Hasharon, Beit Yanai, Beit Herut, Bitan Aharon, Givat Shapira, Neurim and Bat Chen – Boil water for five minutes for drinking, cooking, brushing teeth and preparing medicines.
• In the localities of Avihayil, Mikhmoret– No special instructions.
After being repaired by Mekorot in the next few hours and performing water tests that will indicate normal water quality, an update to the guidelines will be forwarded.
