Kyrgyzstan is considering the possibility of utilizing ‍the ‍Middle Corridor.

As reported by Day.Az, Foreign Minister Jeenbek Kulubayev stated this during a ⁤press conference⁣ on the results of the ⁣ministry’s work in the first half⁣ of 2024.

“Currently, all cargo transportation passes through the southern ‌corridor: goods are transported to ⁢Iran, then‍ Turkey, and finally Europe, and back along the same route. However, alternative routes are being‌ explored⁢ to expedite transportation. One ⁤of these routes‌ is ‍the Middle Corridor, which passes through Kazakhstan, Turkmenistan, Azerbaijan, and the Caucasus.”

The minister noted that these ⁣potential ‌routes are being actively discussed with European partners⁢ and Central⁤ Asian countries.

It’s important to note that the Middle Corridor⁢ connects the‍ container rail freight networks of China and ⁣European Union countries through⁤ Central Asian⁣ nations, the Caucasus,‌ Turkey, and Eastern Europe.

A multilateral multimodal transport‍ infrastructure links the ferry terminals of the ‌Caspian and Black Seas with the railway systems of China, Kazakhstan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Turkey, Ukraine, and Poland.

This corridor ⁢facilitates‌ the increase of cargo flow ⁤from China to Turkey, as well ‍as to European countries and vice versa.

The ⁤train⁤ route along this corridor ‌delivers ⁢cargo⁢ from China‌ to Europe in an average of 20-25⁣ days, making⁤ it one of ⁣the key advantages of⁢ this transport corridor.
