Environmental Management System: Dakhla Thermal Power Plant Certified to ISO 14001-V2015 Standard
Rabat – The National Office of Electricity and Drinking Water (ONEE) proudly announced that the Dakhla Thermal Power Plant has been certified to the ISO 14001-V2015 standard in Environmental Management System (EMS). This certification underscores ONEE’s unwavering commitment to environmental sustainability.
The certification was issued following an audit that evaluated the plant’s management, operational, and support processes. This rigorous assessment confirmed the plant’s effective implementation of an EMS, demonstrating its commitment to minimizing ecological impacts, reducing emissions, optimizing energy consumption, and responsibly managing waste.
This achievement aligns perfectly with the Kingdom of Morocco’s vision of sustainable development, which prioritizes environmental protection alongside economic growth. The Dakhla Power Plant joins two other ONEE plants – the Tan Tan Power Plant and the Laayoune Power Plant - to have received this prestigious distinction.
The Dakhla Power Plant, with an installed capacity of 76 MW, joins a growing list of organizations embracing sustainable practices and minimizing their environmental footprint.
