## Central Bank Auction Sees Rise in Foreign Remittances

The Central Bank’s foreign currency auction today, Wednesday, saw a significant increase in foreign remittances, reaching $187 million compared to last Monday.
A central bank spokesperson stated that during today’s auction, the bank sold $203 million, $721,600 in US dollars. The transactions were conducted at a basic exchange rate of 1305 dinars per dollar for documentary credits and international settlements for electronic cards, and at a rate of 1310 dinars per dollar for foreign transfers and cash.
The majority of the dollar sales were utilized for strengthening balances abroad through transfers and credits, amounting to $187.551.6 million, representing a 91% increase from cash sales of $16.17 million.
Five banks participated in the cash dollar purchase, while 15 banks met requests to enhance balances abroad. A total of 87 exchange and brokerage companies also took part in the auction.
