Anyang City Holds Youth Budget Proposal Presentation Contest
The Anyang City Youth Participation Budget Proposal Presentation Contest was held on the 7th, where young residents presented proposals for projects they believe would benefit the city. Over 80 people, including 10 teams, parents, and budget committee members, attended the event.
The competition resulted in one grand prize, one excellence award, and three encouragement awards.
Grand Prize:
Seo-Hyeon Cho from Yeonhyeon Elementary School won the grand prize for their proposal to install anti-slip pads on downhill slopes in the school area. This project aims to address the risk of slips and falls caused by slippery Braille blocks.
Excellence Award:
Lim Se-yoon from Pyeongchon Middle School received the Excellence Award for their proposal to establish an overseas volunteer program for youth.
Encouragement Awards:
Three individuals received encouragement awards:
Seo-ha Kim (Yeonhyeon Elementary School) for paving block maintenance in the park in front of the school.
Woo-young Jeon (Haeo-reum Elementary School) for maintaining yellow carpets in a nearby elementary school.
* Ha-eun Kim (Gwiin Middle School) for proposing a youth dream support program in Anyang City.
The contest was part of the Anyang City Youth Budget School, where participants learned about the participatory budgeting system and crafting policy proposals. Ten proposals were eventually selected and announced at the event.
The city plans to review the proposed projects and incorporate them into the 2025 budget.
