Short. The Cortaccia and Magré Section of the Alpine Club
The Cortaccia and Magré section of the Alpine Club is one of the most active in South Tyrol. They offer a variety of activities, from rock and ice excursions to less strenuous trips and outings for young people. There are also plenty of bike trips available.
The section has a team of ”scouts” who explore new hiking trails and suggest them to members. Recently, two climbers, Peter Amort di Magré and Michl Kofler, tested a new itinerary on the Marmolada, which is known as the “Queen of the Dolomites.”
Despite the high cost of refreshments at the Capanna Margherita hut, which was 24.50 euros for three teas and two mini tarts, the climbers were surprised by the price. They noted that many hikers avoid refuges due to such costs.
