Full Moon in August: A Night of Magic and Culture
The full moon of August stands out as a highlight of the year. As the summer months unfold, the Moon reveals its majestic glow, often taking on a deeper, orange-red hue. This captivating phenomenon is due to the Moon’s low position on the horizon, causing light refraction. The result is a breathtaking spectacle, especially during moonrise, which coincides with sunset.

The upcoming full moon in August 2024 will illuminate the sky on August 19th, Monday. In Greece, the sunset that day will be at 8:12 PM, offering a perfect moment to witness the majestic rise of the full moon. Additionally, this full moon is a “supermoon,” appearing slightly larger and brighter due to its close approach to Earth.
