Teenage Friendship Turns Sour: Student Steals Jewelry to Buy Girlfriend an iPhone
(Web Desk) Is this called friendship? A ninth-class student in Najafgarh, South West Delhi, stole his mother’s jewelry to give his friend an iPhone, who was arrested by the police.
According to reports, the boy took this drastic step to celebrate his girlfriend’s birthday. The incident came to light when the boy’s mother filed a police report alleging the theft of two gold chains, earrings, and a ring from their home.
Police investigations revealed that the boy had purchased a new iPhone worth Rs 50,000. Despite extensive searches in Dharmapura, Kakarola, and Najafgarh, the boy repeatedly evaded capture. police were able to apprehend him at his home.
The boy confessed that he was motivated by his desire to impress his girlfriend, who was celebrating her birthday. He had originally requested money from his mother to buy her a gift, but she refused. Enraged, he decided to steal the jewelry instead.
The minor, who is studying in a private school in Najafgarh, lost his father to illness and has shown little interest in his studies. He reportedly used the stolen money to purchase the iPhone as a birthday gift for his girlfriend.
