Whiskey, AI Solution for Diagnosing 3 Major Blindness Diseases
Fast and accurate diagnosis of eye diseases is now easier thanks to two new solutions from Daewoong Pharmaceutical. The company has signed a distribution contract with medical device company Arc for two products: Whiskey, an AI-powered blindness diagnosis assistance solution, and Optina, a portable fundus camera.
How it works:
- Whiskey analyzes retinal images captured by Optina to diagnose three major blinding diseases: diabetic retinopathy, macular degeneration, and glaucoma.
- The AI algorithm provides a diagnosis within 3-5 seconds with simple operations.
- The results are displayed in a clear and detailed manner, with a visual representation of the lesion area.
Benefits:
- Early detection of blindness-causing diseases.
- Increased accessibility to diagnosis, as it eliminates the need for dilation of the pupils.
- Convenient and portable design, making it ideal for use in various settings.
More than just diagnosis:
- Optina captures high-resolution images of the eye’s interior, including the retina, choroid, and optic nerve.
- This allows for comprehensive diagnosis and management of various ophthalmic diseases.
Daewoong Pharmaceutical believes these innovative solutions will significantly improve the diagnostic convenience of medical staff and contribute to early detection and management of blindness in Korea.
Additional Information:
- Daewoong Pharmaceutical also offers other digital medical devices such as the AI electrocardiogram wearable device ’mobiCARE’ and the ring-type continuous blood pressure monitor ’CART BP’.
