Full Moon Illuminates Archaeological Sites and Museums
Dozens of archaeological sites, monuments, and museums across Greece will be open late on Monday, August 19th, for the annual August Full Moon event. Organized by the Ministry of Culture, this initiative offers the public a unique opportunity to explore these cultural treasures under the moonlight.
The event will feature free admission to over 100 archaeological sites, historical places, museums, and monuments throughout the country. Additionally, more than 50 sites will host special events such as:
Theatrical and musical performances
Stargazing sessions
Storytelling sessions
Guided tours
These events will be held in collaboration with the General Directorate of Antiquities and Cultural Heritage, the General Directorate of Restoration, Museums, and Technical Works, and local authorities.
The Ministry encourages everyone to visit these cultural gems and enjoy the beauty of the full moon. A list of participating sites will be released closer to the event date.
