August 9, 1904: Extradition Treaty Signed Between Haiti and the United States
The Republic of Haiti and the United States of America recognized the need for international cooperation in ensuring the proper administration of justice. To this end, they concluded a treaty allowing for the extradition of individuals accused or convicted of serious crimes to each other.
The treaty outlines the conditions under which individuals accused or convicted of specific crimes can be surrendered between the two countries. These crimes include those punishable by death, imprisonment for more than two years, or a fine exceeding a certain amount.
