Dachser Conducts Tests with 100% Electric Truck in Malaga
Within the framework of the “City Distribution” strategic project for sustainable urban distribution, Dachser, a leading logistics operator, has developed the DACHSER Emission Free Delivery model. This model aims to achieve local zero emission delivery in certain urban areas across Europe.
Test Operations in Malaga
To prepare and evaluate the model’s effectiveness, Dachser’s delegation in Malaga has started test operations with a 100% electric truck over two weeks. The tests involved simulating real traffic situations and analyzing the behavior of the truck under various criteria, including:
Different weights and loads
Different days and times
Changing routes and number of stops
Battery recharging during routes, with and without air conditioning
Implementation in Malaga
The launch of the DACHSER Emission Free Delivery model in Malaga is scheduled for 2025. The selected 7.5-ton vehicle has a range of up to 230 kilometers. Additionally, Dachser Malaga will have its own charging station to fully charge the electric vehicle in a maximum of 5 hours.
Previous Initiatives in Malaga
In 2015, Dachser already put into circulation a small 100% electric vehicle in Malaga as part of the “Ecological Distribution in the City Center” project.
