A Danish Court Sentences Foreign Citizen to Prison for Attacking Prime Minister
(Web Desk) A Danish court sentenced a foreign citizen to four months in prison for attacking the Danish Prime Minister.
According to a report by a foreign news agency, the citizen of Poland was accused of attempting to punch Prime Minister Frederiksen, but he stumbled and fell to the ground. The incident occurred in June.
The court ruled that the criminal will be deported after serving his sentence and will be banned from returning to Denmark for the next six years.
During the hearing, the judge addressed the accused and stated that he was found guilty of punching the Prime Minister in the shoulder, based on witness testimony and evidence.
The accused initially denied involvement in the incident but later accepted responsibility for his actions after the verdict was announced.
Prime Minister Frederiksen, who became the youngest prime minister in 2019 at the age of 41, was targeted in the attack.
A 39-year-old foreign citizen was detained by police immediately following the incident.
