Power Outage Affects Over 300,000 Customers in Metropolitan Region
August 9, 2024, 7:14 PM – Electricity provider Enel reported a widespread power outage affecting over 300,000 customers in the Metropolitan Region. The outage is concentrated in the municipalities of Quilicura, Lampa, Pudahuel, Recoleta, and Maipú.
According to Enel, a total of 304,283 users remain without electricity following the outage caused by a frontal system affecting central and southern areas of the country. The company is deploying technical teams to restore power as quickly as possible.
Enel emphasized that they are prioritizing attention to electricity-dependent customers and have activated over 200 teams to handle cases and expedite the restoration process. Customers registered as electro-dependent have access to preferential telephone support for generator set installation.
The company stated that they are working to maintain operational capacity and strengthen customer service channels until power is restored to all customers.
