Plane Arrives Quickly in the Canary Islands with Passenger Suffering Stroke
A plane flying between Argentina and Spain requested a change in its itinerary after discovering a passenger suffering from a possible stroke on board. The Controladores Aéreos announced the incident through their X profile (formerly Twitter).
The passenger had already departed Buenos Aires and was scheduled to land in Barcelona. During the flight, and shortly after entering the airspace above the Canary Islands, the crew noticed the passenger exhibiting symptoms consistent with a stroke.
Given the seriousness of the situation, the crew immediately informed Moroccan air traffic control and requested permission to divert to the Canary Islands. Emergency medical attention was deemed essential.
Working in collaboration with Moroccan professionals, the Enaire management center in the Archipelago facilitated the landing of the aircraft on the islands.
Despite the swift actions, the flight ultimately landed an hour later at Gran Canaria Airport. The current health condition of the passenger is not yet known.
