Rome, 8 August 2024 – The fourth work in four days by renowned street artist Banksy has emerged in Rome. This time, the creation features a howling wolf superimposed on a satellite dish, resembling a moon bathed in streetlamp light.
Like its predecessors – a goat, elephants, and chimpanzees – this new silhouette interacts with its surroundings. The wolf appears to gaze at the moon, echoing the urban “safari” theme of Banksy’s recent works.
The artist’s latest creation joins a series of murals that have captivated Rome. A capra stands proudly atop a white wall, balanced like a mountain climber. Two elephants gaze intently at each other, their trunks touching. Three chimpanzees hang from a railway bridge, defying gravity.
This ongoing project is consistent with Banksy’s previous works, which often hint at environmental concerns and social activism. His biographer, Stephen Antonelli, suggests this new piece is part of a larger, untitled series, hinting at a larger narrative that will unfold over time.
