(24News) The Islamabad High Court expressed its displeasure with its diary branch for entertaining an application filed by the accused. Justice Arbab Tahir summoned the branch representative and reprimanded him.
The accused, Azam Khan, had requested details of the cases against him. Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri issued a notice to the police and sought their response. During the hearing, Justice Arbab Tahir expressed his indignation, stating that the branch frequently raises objections without justification.
The branch representative explained that the petitioner had done his biometrics in Taxila. The court questioned why the application was entertained despite the biometrics being done in another city. The representative responded that the biometric data of former Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif had previously been collected.
Justice Arbab Tahir inquired about the process of collecting Nawaz Sharif’s biometric data. The representative replied that it was done at the request of an assistant registrar. The court expressed concern over the lack of written authorization for the biometric collection.
Justice Arbab Tahir remarked that the court would investigate the matter further, as the application appeared to be improperly entertained.
