State Environmental Service Evaluates Radiation Safety Center Director
The State Environmental Service (VVD) has evaluated the suitability of Dace Šatrovska, head of the Radiation Safety Center (RDC), and concluded that she has not violated any regulations or engaged in inappropriate lobbying. However, they acknowledge some existing problems that require the Ministry of Industry to address.
The VVD evaluated RDC’s actions in response to SIA Inlab’s claims regarding the sector’s inability to comply with regulations. While SIA Inlab’s opinions remain unconfirmed, the VVD emphasizes improvements in radiation safety under Šatrovska’s leadership, including increased public awareness and various initiatives.
“We have no doubts about Dace Šatrovska’s suitability for the position and highly value her contribution to radiation safety,” said Andris Ķeniņš, VVD General Director.
