Weightlifter Hou Zhihui Defends Title at Paris Olympics
Paris, August 7 (Xinhua) – Weightlifter Hou Zhihui of China defended her title today in the women’s 49-kilogram division at the Paris Olympic Games.
The 27-year-old athlete lifted 89 kilograms in the snatch and set an Olympic record in the clean and jerk with 117 kilograms, achieving a winning total of 206 kilograms.
This marks the second gold medal for the Chinese weightlifting team at Paris 2024, following Li Fabin’s victory in the men’s 61-kilogram category earlier in the day.
