Modi calls on Selensky; India expresses pain, Ukraine seeks political support

New Delhi: India has called Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Volodymyr Zelenskyy over the phone during the Ukraine crisis. Modi said India was committed to ending the violence and resuming talks. Modi also asked the Ukrainian president to ensure the safety of Indians in Ukraine.

Selensky tweeted that he had sought political support from Narendra Modi. Selensky told Modi that there were one lakh infiltrators in Ukraine.

Meanwhile, Ukrainians in India arrived in front of the Ukrainian Embassy in Delhi. The Ukrainian citizen demanded that all Indians stand by him. Solidarity should not be limited to words. She said India should also demand an end to the war.

Meanwhile, a group of Malayalee students, who had crossed the Romanian border from Ukraine, returned to India. The first batch of 219 people will arrive in Mumbai tonight. The next team will arrive in Delhi tomorrow morning.

From the shores of anxiety they are finally reaching Indian soil. The first group arrived at the airport in Bucharest, Romania at around 9.30 am Indian time. Food and water were provided by Indian Embassy officials. Romanian Ambassador Rahul Srivastava sent the first delegation away. A group of 219 people comprising of more than 30 Malayalees will arrive in Mumbai.

The second group arrives via the Romanian border. They are being brought to Delhi. There are seventeen Malayalees in this group. Accommodation has been arranged for them at Kerala House. The state government will arrange free travel for Malayalees. They will be flown to Thiruvananthapuram, Kochi and Kozhikode airports.
