Moroccan Officials Represent Kingdom at Maldivian President Inauguration
Malé - Ambassador Fouad Yazourh, Director General at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Abroad, accompanied by the Ambassador of HM the King to the Maldives, Mohamed Maliki, represented Morocco at the inauguration ceremony of the new President of the Maldives, Mohamed Muizz, on Friday in Malè.
During the ceremony, Ambassador Yazourh conveyed the greetings and esteem of HM the King to the Maldivian President, as well as the Sovereign’s wishes for further progress and prosperity to the Maldivian people.
He also reiterated Morocco’s desire to strengthen and diversify its relations of friendship and cooperation with the Maldives.
Morocco and the Maldives share deep historical and spiritual ties dating back to the 12th century, thanks to the Moroccan traveler and preacher Al Hafiz Abul Barakaat Yousouf Al Barbari, who converted the Archipelago to Islam.
In his inauguration speech, the new Maldivian president outlined his vision for the Maldives of tomorrow, addressing various issues, particularly the development of the country.
He emphasized a balanced approach to development, highlighting both structural and human dimensions, and announced measures to revitalize and promote the Maldivian economy.
