Leopoldo Michel Díaz, a Mexican consul assigned to Shanghai>, sparked controversy after starring in a video filled with insults>. “I don’t apologize for anything,” he said.
Journalist Dolia Estevez reported on Twitter that she had a phone call with Leopoldo Michel Díaz, who was featured in a video where he insulted Miguel Angel Isidro, the Consul General of Shanghai in China>.
Diaz claimed that his remarks were simply part of Mexican vernacular and denied any malice. “Among Mexicans, that is how we sometimes speak. I am not insulting anyone,” he wrote in his response to Estevez.

Diaz also accused Ambassador Miguel Ángel Isidro of leaking the video to the media and accused the Foreign Ministry of inaction.

Diaz also accused the Foreign Ministry of neglecting his requests to be transferred out of Shanghai.

Regarding the Foreign Ministry’s statement regarding disciplinary measures, Diaz claimed he had not been contacted.
