Following the successful student uprising, the interim government has taken on the challenge in a difficult situation, urging the new government to collaborate without undue pressure.

Party convener AFM Solaiman Chowdhury and member ⁤secretary Mojibur Rahman Manju called for this in a joint statement on Friday (August 9).

Professor Dr. Md. Congratulating the new interim government under the leadership of Yunus and wishing them success, the leaders stated that the current⁤ situation in Bangladesh is unprecedented. The long‍ fascist regime has eroded the professionalism and credibility of every institution in the country.⁤ Deep divisions have⁢ emerged across ⁤society, raising fears of civil war in various parts of the ‍world.

The leaders emphasized that the new⁤ interim government faces a formidable challenge. On the one hand, thousands of disappearances, murders, fabricated cases,⁢ indiscriminate oppression, and the erosion of justice over ‌the past 16 years. On the other hand, the‌ moral responsibility to resolve the painful history⁤ of⁤ institutional capture, shameless partisanship, and the devastating impact on the lives of millions.

The leaders noted that the people have been deprived of their right to vote for ⁤years, leading to mass migration and job losses. ‌They questioned whether any interim government has ever taken power under such immense pressure.

The AB party leaders called on all responsible political parties and conscious citizens to adopt a cooperative attitude with patience and avoid putting undue pressure on the new government.

They expressed optimism that if ⁤Yunus and his team approach their new roles with sincerity, experience, and diligence, the dreams of the students can be ‌realized. The ‌people hope that ‍the interim government will ensure democratic and non-discriminatory governance, restore voting rights, and organize a free and participatory election, ultimately leading Bangladesh towards a brighter ⁤future.
