Libreville, August 10, 2024 (AGP) – The Executive Committee of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), meeting in an extraordinary session in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, condemned the ongoing war crimes, aggression, and genocide committed by Israel in the Gaza Strip.
The OIC conclave, held in Jeddah, was the latest opportunity for the organization to strongly condemn the crimes committed by the illegal occupying power in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank. Participants expressed deep concern over the ongoing conflict and called for an immediate cessation of Israeli aggression and the policy of abuse, starvation, and collective punishment against the Palestinian people.
The session also strongly condemned the assassination of Ismail Haniyeh, former Palestinian Prime Minister, and held Israel fully responsible for the heinous act. This act was seen as a violation of the Charter of the United Nations.
The Jeddah session also called for immediate and effective intervention by the UN Security Council in its responsibilities to maintain international peace and security.
The meeting was attended by the President of the Higher Council for Islamic Affairs of Gabon (CSAIG), Abdul Razzack Kabongo.
