The meeting, held in coordination with the Wilaya of the region, focused on the theme “Investments of MREs: Opportunities and perspectives.” The gathering aimed to highlight the significant contribution of Moroccan residents abroad (MREs) to the national economy through their investments in promising sectors such as tourism, services, and real estate.
The director of the economic impulse pole at the CRI, Ahmed Kathir, emphasized that MREs have become the best ambassadors of the Kingdom in their host countries, citing their valuable contributions to the economy through their skills and positions. He stressed the need to facilitate their projects by addressing any administrative or procedural challenges they encounter.
Mr. Kathir highlighted the positive impact of Moroccan expats on job creation and GDP growth, noting their significant experience transferred from host countries. He also lauded the royal vision for its role in fostering economic reforms, including legal and administrative improvements, to attract investors.
The official recognized the crucial role of the territorial administration and external services in streamlining the process of investment file management for MREs. He emphasized the digital platform designed to facilitate the submission of investment-related documents to the unified regional investment commissions (CRUI).
Mr. Kathir also presented the vast potential of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region in various economic sectors, outlining investment opportunities and the availability of skilled labor. He listed ongoing strategic projects in the region, including port development, industrial zones, road infrastructure, and seawater desalination.
The meeting concluded with MREs expressing their commitment to contributing to the socio-economic development of the Dakhla-Oued Eddahab region, praising the support and guidance provided by various services.
