The 2024 National Nature Conservation Day seminar, titled “Clean Operation Movement, Sustainable Lifestyle,” was held at the Party School in South Jakarta on Saturday (10/8).
Member of the Indonesian House of Representatives Commission IV from the PDI Perjuangan Faction, Vita Ervina, addressed the issue of inadequate funding for waste management. She stated, “Up until now, we have seen that the budget allocation related to waste is still very lacking.”
Vita emphasized the need for the government to prioritize waste management in the upcoming budget. She also called for increased industry accountability in packaging production and urged the DPR to join in encouraging a comprehensive solution to the problem.
“We certainly hope that the DPR can also join us in encouraging the government to prepare a good budget, which can also be increased, so that it can resolve the problem of waste management at the grassroots level of society,” she said.
