Government Offices Distributed, Asif Mahmud Named Youth & Sports Minister
The offices of the Interim Government have been distributed. Anti-discrimination movement coordinator Asif Mahmud Sajib Bhuiyan has been assigned the responsibility of the Youth and Sports Ministry.
Earlier on Thursday (August 8) at 9:27 PM, the advisors of the interim government took oath.
Asif Mahmud, a Dhaka University student and coordinator of the anti-discrimination student movement, took oath as an interim advisor. He was born in 1998 in Akubpur village of Muradnagar upazila of Comilla.
Asif is the son of Billal Hossain and Roksana Begum. He completed his SSC from Nakhalpara Hossain Ali High School in Dhaka in 2015 and later earned his HSC from Adamji Cantonment College. He is currently pursuing a master’s degree.
Asif was also active in the quota reform movement in 2018. In 2023, he was elected president of the first Dhaka University Student Rights Council but resigned after five months due to alleged constitutional violations. He later founded the ‘Ganotantri Chhatra Shakti’ organization, serving as its convener.
