CD Tenerife Falls to Real Madrid Castilla in Teide Cup Final
La Orotava, Tenerife, Spain – August 10, 2024 – CD Tenerife concluded their pre-season campaign with a 1-0 defeat to Real Madrid Castilla in the final of the Teide Cup LII at the Los Cuartos Municipal Stadium.
The blue and white team started the game brightly, testing the Madrid outfit early on. However, it was the visitors who broke the deadlock in the 42nd minute when Reinier outran Gayà and slotted the ball past Salvi Carrasco.
Despite enjoying several chances throughout the game, Tenerife were unable to find an equalizer. Ángel, in particular, had a shot that sailed over the bar in the second half.
The hosts made several changes during the game, bringing on Yanis and Alassan for Ángel and Cantero. However, these changes failed to spark a comeback.
The final whistle confirmed Real Madrid Castilla’s victory, ending Tenerife’s pre-season campaign on a slightly disappointing note.
