A reader expressed frustration over overflowing trash containers in Rasytė Street, Kaunas, highlighting the unpleasant odor and lack of service response. The resident claimed that despite reporting the issue on Monday, the garbage truck only arrived on Tuesday, leaving the area untouched.
The reader questioned the quality of services despite paying monthly fees. “What are we paying so much money for? Even after 10 Euros, is there anyone who provides better quality services?” the reader asked.
Several residents of Rasytė Street have expressed similar concerns about the uncollected trash. The reader emphasized the need for better hygiene standards.
Order is also the responsibility of residents.
A representative of “Kaunas švaros” stated that the waste collection vehicle eventually entered the yard and emptied the container. However, they noted ongoing issues with residents’ behavior.
The representative emphasized the importance of clear access to waste containers, stating that residents must ensure the garbage truck can approach the site without obstruction. They also highlighted the problem of residents leaving vehicles in unauthorized areas.
The representative encouraged residents to report littering, bulky waste, and other violations by contacting emergency services or the Department of Environmental Protection.
Penalties can be imposed for violating waste management regulations, with fines up to 140 EUR for initial offenses and up to 600 EUR for repeated violations.
