Ajmer Police Raid Fake Call Center, Arrest 18
Ajmer, India – August 11, 2024 – The Ajmer district cyber police station in Rajasthan made a significant bust on Saturday, raiding and apprehending 14 boys and 4 girls running a fake call center. The operation targeted a facility operating out of the Sanjay Palace function venue in Faisagar.
The cyber police received a tip-off regarding fraudulent activities being conducted under the guise of a call center. Acting swiftly, they raided the location and recovered 29 laptops, 40 mobile phones, SIM cards, and other equipment.
The suspects, all residents of Punjab, Haryana, Delhi, and Bihar, are believed to have been involved in cheating foreigners through the fake call center operation. An investigation is ongoing to gather more information about the gang’s members.
“We received information about a fake call center being run in the Sanjay Palace function venue,” said SP Devendra Bishnoi. “A team was formed to investigate the matter and apprehend the suspects.”
The accused are currently being questioned by the police.
