Union of the Comoros: Inauguration in Moroni of a monitoring center for audiovisual programs with the support of HACA

The official inauguration ceremony was graced by the presence of the Minister of ‍the Interior,‍ Information, Decentralization and⁢ Territorial Administration, several ⁣high-ranking Comorian officials, representatives of the diplomatic corps and UN agencies, as well as numerous local media outlets.

Equipped with the HMS+ program monitoring software solution,⁢ for​ which​ HACA holds⁢ the international intellectual property patent, ​this center installed at ‌the headquarters of the independent media regulatory body,​ the ​CNPA in Moroni‌ in Grande Comore, has⁣ been augmented with ⁤regional antennas on the islands ⁣of Mohéli and Anjouan.​ This ‌is according to a ⁤press release issued by HACA.

A training session lasting several days was provided by Messrs Najib Bouzmarni and Adil Bourbate, managers within the HACA Information Systems Department,​ to enable CNPA teams to effectively utilize this powerful program monitoring ⁣tool.

Prior to the inauguration of‌ this monitoring ‌center, a cooperation agreement was signed by⁣ the presidents of the Moroccan and Comorian regulatory‌ authorities.

Under this agreement, the⁤ future partnership between ⁣HACA and CNPA will focus ⁤on:
– Organizing expert missions ⁣and joint studies
-⁤ Exchanging ‌experiences‌ in improving regulatory tools and procedures
– ⁢Strengthening professional monitoring ​to enhance the regulator’s role⁢ in promoting human rights principles through‌ the media and⁣ protecting ‍the public from disinformation, hate speech, and other‍ harmful ⁣practices⁤ that undermine democratic functioning.

Also present at⁢ this ⁢official ‌ceremony⁤ were:
– Mr.⁢ Benaïssa Asloun, Director General of HACA
– ⁤Mr. Talal Salahdine, Manager of African Affairs ​within the Moroccan body
-‌ Mr. Driss Alaoui, Chargé ⁣d’Affaires of ​the Kingdom⁢ of Morocco to the ⁣Union of the Comoros.
