Su-34, Su-35, and MiG-31 aircraft are known to be based at the airfield. The outcome of the strike is currently under investigation, according to a Telegram statement released on Friday.
Additionally, Ukrainian forces conducted strikes against Russian anti-aircraft missile divisions in the occupied territory of the Donetsk region.
“Among other targets, combat operations were conducted against three enemy radars – two S-350 complexes and one S-300. A direct hit on one S-350 radar and its destruction were confirmed,” the General Staff reported.
Information regarding the remaining two targets is currently being gathered. Following the strikes, all three enemy radars became inoperable.
An informed source informed the news agency “Interfax-Ukraine” that the Ukrainian Security Service, in collaboration with the Armed Forces and Special Operations Forces, conducted an operation against the Russian military airfield “Lipetka-2”.
The source reported that the airfield housed numerous fighter jets, helicopters, and warehouses containing over 700 guided air bombs.
The source claimed that after the Ukrainian drone strike, a powerful explosion occurred, triggering a chain reaction and a large-scale fire in a significant portion of the airfield.
Local authorities confirmed the detonation and announced the evacuation of residents from four nearby settlements.
“The majority of aircraft stationed at the military airfield ‘Lipecka-2’ were unable to take off,” the source added.
