Legendary rhythmic gymnastics coach Neshka Robeva shared her thoughts‍ on the 2024 Paris ⁤Olympic ⁢Games on her Facebook page. In her post, she referenced a ⁣verse from Hristo Botev‘s poem⁤ “Hayduti.”

“Never ⁢forget…

“…what children she bore,

gave birth, is giving birth now

Bulgarian mother, a young woman;

what kind⁤ of‍ boys did she feed

food, food and‍ today

our land beautiful!…”

The Bulgarian team secured three gold, one silver, and three‍ bronze medals in the Games. Semen Novikov, Magomed Ramazanov, and weightlifter Carlos Nassar claimed gold, while Boryana Kalein earned silver,⁤ and Kimia Alizade, Bozhidar Andreev,⁤ and Javier Ibanez won‍ bronze.

Robeva’s message reads:

“Today the XXXIII Olympic Games in Paris‌ end…

Thank ⁣you, beautiful⁢ Bulgarian girls and boys!

We thank everyone who earned the right to represent Bulgaria at the Olympic Games.

Thank‍ you for uniting us in these difficult times, despite the bitterness, confusion, disbelief, and despair. Thank ‍you for reminding us that we are one.

Thank you for making us shout, pray, laugh, cry, and relive every moment…

Together!

Thank you for making us proud!

The coach then takes a sharp⁣ turn, addressing the perceived shortcomings of the‍ Bulgarian athletes.

“You ⁣have made us ashamed… forever whining,‍ lazy, simplistic,‍ expecting someone else to ⁣do the work for⁢ us…”

However, she concludes with a message of encouragement and support.

⁤ “Continue… You are great because of the ⁣chosen and still untrodden path… Continue despite the⁣ pain, ⁤fatigue, disappointment… ⁢Continue because you ‍are chosen!”

Robeva ends with a quote from⁤ Michael‍ Jordan, emphasizing the importance of perseverance ‍and learning⁤ from ‌defeats.

Bulgaria’s seven medals ⁢at the XXXIII Summer⁣ Olympic‍ Games in Paris 2024 are a record for the country in the ⁤past 20 years.
