(24 News) Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed deep concern over the ongoing atrocities in Palestine, stating that there is no precedent in history for the level of violence and oppression inflicted upon the Palestinian people. He condemned the Israeli military’s recent attack on Gaza, which he described as an act of aggression. International organizations, he lamented, have remained silent in the face of this crisis.
Prime Minister Sharif emphasized that the upcoming Independence Day celebrations are overshadowed by the suffering of the Palestinian people. He criticized the international community for its perceived indifference towards the Israeli occupation and its human rights abuses.
Addressing a ceremony commemorating the National Day of Minorities in Lahore, Prime Minister Sharif highlighted the importance of minorities in Pakistani society. He recalled Quaid-e-Azam’s historic address, where the founder of Pakistan emphasized the equal rights and contributions of all citizens. He acknowledged the valuable role played by minorities in the development of the country.
Sharif criticized the Israeli government and Prime Minister Netanyahu for their oppression of the Palestinians, citing the recent attack on Gaza as an example of their brutality. He expressed disappointment over the lack of meaningful action from international organizations to address the conflict. He argued that the international community has failed to hold Israel accountable for its actions.
The Prime Minister acknowledged the sacrifices of minorities, including Christians, Hindus, Sikhs, and Parsis, who have contributed to Pakistani society. He highlighted the significant contributions of these communities to the country’s development.
Sharif mentioned the sacrifices of Pakistani soldiers and officers from minority communities who have lost their lives in recent terrorist incidents. He also referred to the support of minorities during the formation of Pakistan, noting their role in voting in favor of the country.
