In the 11th minute, Enzo Mijo put France in the lead with a goal following a defensive blunder. However, Spain responded swiftly, scoring three goals in a 11-minute span. Fermin Lopez, assisted by Alex Baena, opened the scoring for Spain in the 18th minute. Seven minutes later, Lopez doubled the lead with a close-range finish after a save by goalkeeper Guillaume Resta.
Lopez’s goal was his sixth of the tournament, trailing only Morocco’s Sufian Rahimi, who had eight.
Spain extended their lead in the 28th minute when Baena scored a free kick. France staged a comeback in the 79th minute when Manes Aklish volleyed in a cross from Michael Olis.
The match ended in a 3-3 draw after extra time, leading to a penalty shootout. Jean-Philippe Mateta converted the penalty for Spain, sending the ball into the lower left corner.
Spain ultimately secured victory in the extra period, with Adrian Garcia setting up Sergio Camelio, who slotted the ball into the net. Camelio added a fifth goal in the first minute of extra time, running solo past the goalkeeper.
In other matches, Morocco defeated Egypt 6-0 to claim the bronze medal. Spain defeated Morocco 2-1 in the semi-finals, while France overcame Egypt 3-1 in extra time.
